A sensory rush with a clear conscience - vegetarian barbecues

For die-hard barbecue fans, combining two words in the same headline is simply unthinkable: GRILLING and VEGETARIAN - to speak of SINNESRAUSCH is pure mockery for them. But you can believe us, if you are prepared to broaden your horizons, you won't regret it.

Admittedly, it is quite possible to make a mistake (as with meat). But there are specific prejudices here that we would like to shed light on and dispel.

Prejudice 1: Vegetables taste bland compared to meat

We would like to say the following: meat itself does not have a great taste of its own. It is marinating, sauces and consistency that make it enjoyable. Vegetables may even have more flavor from the start.

If we give vegetarian grilled food the same attention, it will be at least as flavorful and exciting.

Prejudice 2: Grilling vegetables has little variation

You can stuff, try variations on skewers (with vegetables that have roughly the same cooking times), vary the composition of the marinade and pay attention to different consistencies of the vegetable/tofu/grilled cheese selection.

Served with sauces, salads and bread, as usual, a variety of enjoyment is pre-programmed.

Prejudice 3: Vegetables don't fill you up

Anyone who has tried it once will realize that this is not true at all - but the feeling of satiety is perhaps not as stressful as with fatty pieces of meat or sausages.

We see this more as an advantage.

Prejudice 4: The barbecue experience is not right if no meat is grilled

We suggest this: Try it out! If you give vegetarian food the same attention as meaty food, you will be surprised at how delicious it smells, feels and tastes.

We strongly advise you to try it yourself. 💚
