Kids, come and guess what's roasting in the oven!

Hear how it bangs and hisses!

Soon it will be served,

the Zipfel, the Zapfel,

the Kipfel, the Kapfel,

the yellow-red apple. 🍎

That makes our hearts beat faster!

Not only because of the poem from our childhood, the fragrant apple, which develops into an explosion of flavor and fragrance in the oven, is surrounded by a magical aura that is incomparable to any other fruit.

Whether served on its own or more extravagantly, with vanilla sauce or with game dishes, it delights all our senses.

We don't want to write a "recipe" for the baked apple, because it would be nice if you could let your imagination run wild.

Once the casing has been cut out, it can be filled with all kinds of things (grated nuts, marzipan, honey, almond slivers, raisins soaked in rum, aniseed stars, cranberries...) or just a cinnamon stick.

If you like, you can marinate it with a mixture of orange and lemon juice (boiled with 1 tbsp sugar).

Bake in the oven at 200 degrees (top/bottom heat) for approx. 35 minutes. If you have cut off the lids for filling, they can be placed in the oven approx. 10 minutes before completion (i.e. after a baking time of 25 minutes).

pro.earth tip:

If you are the lucky owner of a wood-fired oven (which is heated anyway), you can of course use it for roasting.
